Even my Law Office benefits from a few "thrift store finds"!

As a part-time attorney, I feel fortunate to be able to work from home. I have a small law office that is very compact yet functional. In the photo below you will see a narrow white book shelf that sits atop my desk holding law books. Found this shelf at a thrift store. The dimensions were perfect.  Have kept all my old law books from law-school, and added more through the years. Catherine has amassed quite a collection as well, as she is now in her final year of law school. Though my law books........are not in keeping with my color palette, I still display them. They add a bold color punch to my office. Also notice on my desk, my JD diploma and state bar license in antique wooden frames....found (where else?) but a thrift-store. The last pic is of me in typical court attire. I found this pin-striped jacket at a thrift-store, and have worn it numerous times. This photo was taken a few years back after I was admitted to the United States District Court.

A "little bit of this & little bit of that" box!

Bought this little silver striped  box a long time ago at a thrift store. It is so handy to hold.....a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

Love the silver and white stripes!

Use it for embroidery thread and bits and bobs.

Silver-roped handle......

Now on my craft desk.

Couldn't resist snapping some more pics of these roses from our garden. Lovely in a thrift store red-wing crock.

Note the Tote! ...... Collection via (thrift stores) as well as Rachel Ashwell!

Was so pleased when the bay area (via election) passed a ban on plastic grocery bags. I know Catherine was happy about this as well,  as she is a big advocate for protecting our environment. Now we bring cloth totes with us when we grocery shop. Have found some great ones at thrift stores. Here are some pics of thrift-store totes that I have found, as well as a few classic totes from the Rachel Ashwell line.

Found 4 of these for .50 cents @ piece!

Love the little crowns. I keep these totes in my car!

One of my all time favorite over-sized totes. This one was not from a thrift-store. Ordered this on-line. Love it!

Another favorite. Purchased this at a thrift store for $1.00.

Love this pink "Paris Bag". Got this at a thrift store for .50 cents.

Bought this one at a thrift store for .25cents. Don't know too much about this band, but loved the graphics.

This bag was a gift from Rachel Ashwell. Met her in person at a book-signing in San Rafael. Rachel graciously gave me two bags. Gave one to Catherine. She loves it and uses it all the time!

Have gotten so much use out of my shabby chic tote! Love it!

Having a Happy Mother's Day!.......and a peek at my new free tote.

So blessed to be the mother of a beautiful son and daughter whom are such kind and wonderful people. Here is a pic of them when they were little (in thrift store silver frames). And thanks to my family for all the chocolate.........yum!

Earlier in the week, received an "Ulta" ad in the mail advertising free totes for mother's day (while supplies last) with purchase of a perfume. Made a quick trip to "Ulta" and was lucky enough to snag one. See pics below.

Finally, here is a photo of my mama and I. Love you Mom!

 Happy Mother's Day all!

Antique silver frames (found at thrift-store)

Saw this ad.....and knew that I would love this.

Is so pretty. Love the satin ribbon!

Love my Mama!

My non-thrift store splurge! (Courtesy of Rachel Ashwell 25% off sale)

I have wanted the petticoat blush duvet from Rachel Ashwell's Shabby Chic Couture line forever. Given it's high cost however, I could not rationalize making the purchase. Luck intervened when in March (for 4 days), Rachel Ashwell discounted her line to the tune of 25% off with free shipping and no tax. I knew it was now or never, so decided to make the splurge. When my duvet and euro shams came the other day, I was over the moon. I cannot tell you how beautiful this is in person. Love love love it! Here are some pics!

The blush color is heavenly!

In love with ruffles!

Love the big over-sized ruffled shams as well!

Boho chic cufflet!

Couldn't pass up this cute home-made cufflet that I purchased at a local flea-market.  This one will be a perfect accent piece for summer. Love it!

This would be easy to make using bits of fabric, ribbon etc.

Spring Sweaters and Pretty Earrings

I love my (perfect for spring) cream colored "Forever 21" sweater I picked up at the thrift store. I know it's going to be a favorite. I also posted some earrings that I got awhile back. Everyone seems to compliment me on them!
