Wonderful Nostalgia

I am posting this blog in honor of my grandmother as it is her 90th birthday tomorrow.  This magnet reminds me of her so much.  She was so talented and made such beautiful things; she liked to crochet, knit, sew, and work on scratch-art. A favorite scratch-art drawing of hers hung in my house. Both it's design and quote is similar to this magnet.  In fact, my mom recently did a blog on it....

I love it hanging on my fridge! A priceless find...  (especially for .49 cents!)
I will always think of her and smile when I see this :)

Little blue vase!

Popped into Target today. Couldn't resist bringing home this light blue vase from Rachel Ashwell's new line. While most of my thrift-store vases are light in color, this one provides the perfect pop of blue. Feeling lost today without my niece and baby Molly. Am also posting a cute  R & R pic that my niece took while here on vacation. Hope that the rest of your week is great!

Perfect blue color!

Love the look of this new little vase amidst a sea of candles.

Light blue and pink......favorite colors! The candle in gold-leaf jar is a thrift-store find.

My niece enjoying some R & R. Family vacations just go way too fast!

Molly Claire, budding fashionista!

My little niece Molly, 3 1/2 months is visiting me. Today we scored some beautiful little dresses for her at thrift/consignment store. A few of these dresses are a bit too big, but she will grow into them. Here is a pic of Molly Claire and her new designer duds!

This little dress is a "Baby Boden". Love it!

Free People Sweater

As you might guess...I'm obsessed with comfy sweaters!  I'm just so drawn to them lately. Maybe because it's been such a cold winter.  Anyways, here's another find below. Hope you enjoy!

Red, striped "Free People" sweater...I LOVE IT!

Company coming......wonderful excuse for fresh flowers!

My niece and grand-niece are coming tomorrow for a visit. Am so excited! My new grand niece, Molly is 4 months old, and this will be the first time meeting her. In celebration of their impending arrival, I went out and bought fresh roses! Can never have enough pink roses!

Light pink and a little darker pink. Like the light ones the best!

Pretty roses in thrift store vases!

Love these too! Just a simple vase is all that is needed!

Love the double reflection of roses in the vintage mirror!

These roses make me anxious for spring......and being able to pick my own pink roses from our garden. Hurry and get here spring/summer!

Retro vintage shelf liner!

Popped into a thrift-store in Oregon awhile back, and noticed how beautifully all the shelves were lined with the prettiest vintage shelf liner. I commented to the clerk how much I loved the vintage shelf liner. The clerk mentioned that she had an extra roll, and said that I could have it for free.  I topped the storage chest in the dining room with the liner paper and even covered my Bible with it.  Love the subtle color and design.

Just love the soft rose print on this shelf-liner!

Added a sample of the liner paper to my wall of prints.

My covered Bible!

Burberry London

Found this Burberry London shirt. You really never have to sacrifice quality when you thrift; you can find anything... from that "well-made vintage,"- to luxury, high-fashion like pictured here. I truly find my best quality items thrifting...

Such a nice, soft material; it's so comfortable.
