Happy New Year! (Hot chocolate to ring in the new year)

Toasting the new year with a cup of hot chocolate. Sipping from a thrift store cup, (see "Swedish royal cups" blog post September 08, 2013),  and cozy in my favorite thrift store "Banana Republic" sweater. Happy New Year all!

Tin tray,......a Christmas gift from my son!

When I opened the Christmas gift my son gave me, I was so touched. Knowing my passion for vintage/shabby chic, he had ordered a tin tray for me from an on-line company called "Creative Co-op". I absolutely love it! I truly have a sweet son!

Love the shabby look of this very pretty "tin tray"!

My very sweet & charming son!

Perfect little tray for use on my entry table!

Romantic Vintage Dress - My Best Find Ever

I was lucky enough to find this 2 piece set from Salvation Army. The price was supposed to be filled in, $ __.99, however someone forgot to do it.   I asked at the counter the price, and the manager replied, "we'll it says .99 cents I suppose I'll give it to you for .99 cents, each piece."  I paid 2 dollars for one of the most gorgeous vintage dresses I might ever find.  This is so 40's style.  I feel like a princess in such a beautiful gown.,...who wouldn't feel like one in this piece of art!  Absolutely in love.  Happy Holidays!

Novelty Christmas Jewelry!

These little seasonal (thrift-store) earrings and bracelets come out year after year. The snow-flake earrings are a new find. Fun!!

Don't know why these little vintage looking jingle bell earrings spoke to me, but am guessing it is their beautiful color!

Delicate little bells!

Wearing my $1.00 earrings. Love these!

This little vintage Christmas bracelet is fun to pair with the two shown below:

Shabby Chic Christmas! circa 2014

Merry Christmas everyone! Have been so behind as work has occupied my time. Am looking forward to "celebrating the birth of Jesus" with family and friends. Just put up our little silver tinsel tree again this year. It is tiny, but beautiful. Here are a few pics.

My favorite time of year. Brought out my vintage barka cloth curtains for the season!

Vintage gift-wrap boxes are perfect for holiday gift-giving. They are easy to find in thrift-stores.

I do not have "tons" of Christmas decorations. Only a few special items that I love to put out every year. This is one of my favorites, a "thrift store found" vintage "Season's Greetings" photo stock card. The subtle colors are beautiful!

I always bring out this vintage striped pillow during the holidays as well!

Purchased this vintage Christmas bell at a thrift store a few years back. Love it!

Purchased these 3 mercury candle-holders at a thrift store. They provide some sparkle!

Have two sofas in the living room now as well. Will be nice to have extra seating around the tree!

Shabby Chic Christmas!

Merry Christmas and God Bless!

Thrifting for "new reads"......a joy for the bibliophile!

Everyone in my family is a true bibliophile! We LOVE books. So lucky for us, a new read is always easy to come by....... thanks to thrift-stores. Here is a pic of our library/TV room filled to the rafters with books. Though in today's digital society it is easy to down-load books etc., I love the feel of a REAL book.

Floor to ceiling books........Love!

Our library doubles as a TV room. Such a cozy space!

For awhile, had all my law books in here as well. Have now moved them to my law office. Nice to keep this down-space for leisure only!
This summer, I created a space for books in living room as well. It is fun to rotate the look of this room!
