"The Greatest of These is Love"

One of the most beautiful items I have ever acquired at a thrift store is this little vintage book by Bonnie Lindsay, Circa 1966:

Entitled, "The Greatest of These is Love", this treasured little book includes favorite passages and scriptures of the author. As per the author's words: "These favorite passages, can answer in perfect sequence our every need. He Left Us The Word.....We have only to inquire of these loving "Scriptures.".

Love this little book full of passages and scriptures so very much!

"The Lord's Prayer".........the greatest prayer of all!

A little passage from this book:  The Steeple beckons Look Up--HIGH UP--in Faith to God.  This is a pic of the steeple of the church that Catherine was recently married in. What a fitting passage!!!

Vintage Wedding!

Congratulations Catherine and Chris!

My "Hooked on Thrifting" daughter was married on August 11, 2014. What a beautiful and sweet couple you and Chris are! We couldn't be happier for you. The wedding took place in a beautiful church with 18th century architecture. The reception was held at a quaint country inn in a private dining enclave. The happy duo honeymooned in the White Mountains of New Hampshire!

The wedding was a small intimate affair with immediate family only, but was classic vintage. I have to say the  bride has impeccable style. From the  church, the dress, the flowers, and the reception, everything was absolutely perfect. For her big day, the bride decided on a designer gown and trousseau. Her earrings; (vintage pearl and glass crystal), were acquired at a thrift store. For a bit of fun, vintage pink sun-glasses; (acquired at a vintage flea market), provided a beautiful light touch  en-route to the reception. Here are some photos we would like to share with you!

The bride's dress was not white, but ivory. It was so very beautiful!

A quaint and beautiful country church!

What a beautiful couple. Catherine was breathtakingly beautiful.

The bride's flowers were inspired by vintage ephemera.........(bouquet of pink roses), as well as  by the pink & white bouquet her mom held at her wedding 34 years ago.

The bouquet with vintage ribbon was so very pretty!

The veil had tiny rhinestones that were such a lovely detail.

Though these vintage earrings were found at a thrift store, they could not have been more perfect!

Love this couple!

Watching our baby girl get married! A bittersweet,...but joyous day!

The bride's vintage PINK sun-glasses! So fun!

Congratulations Catherine and Chris! I know.....I know....I am gushing. Just can't help it!  Love you!!!

Thrift-store necklaces!

Two pretty thrift-store necklaces. One rhinestone and the other pink pearl. I wear them together. Love to mix gems! The rhinestone necklace was $2.00. The pink pearl necklace was $1.00. What deals!

Thrift store curtains......floating in the breeze!

Was sitting in my family room the other day with the windows open. My thrift-store panels were dancing in the breeze. So pretty!

"Summer Afternoon"....to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.
