Bedroom Vanity!

Perfume bottles, mirrors and pics......all make for the perfect bedroom vanity. Have found beautiful vanity ware at thrift shops and flea markets.  I love to change mine up. Here are 2 different versions. Which one do you like best?

Took the back off of my planting table & added a marble top. Voila!

A Dreamy Linen Closet!

There is nothing quite like opening the door of a linen closet and seeing all kinds of dreamy and beautiful sheets, pillow cases, blankets etc.  I often wrap  blankets, linens and sheet sets with silk ribbons in contrasting colors.  You can find all kinds of ribbons and notions at thrift stores. I have a large steel corrugated tool chest that I found at a thrift store that I store all my Christmas decorations in. You will see it in my linen closet in the pic below. Notice the satin padded linen chest, also a flea market find. Hope you all have a wonderful week.

So fun to open my linen closet door!

Notice the vintage tool box on top shelf used for holiday decorations.

Some vintage record albums (all thrift finds) on the left.

Many years ago, my husband bought me a Brother-P-Touch labeling machine. It was one of the best Birthday gifts I have ever received. I use it to stay organized, labeling all my shelves. Even the First Aid bin got the P-touch treatment.

Vintage Pins

I love really pretty vintage pins.  Most of these are from thrift stores, with the exception of the bumblebee and the star (both from my grandmother); along with the cardinal pin (from my uncle). They're great for decorating my apartment  - either attached to a bulletin board, next to a picture frame, sitting in a dish, etc. - or you can always use them to revamp an outfit.

An array of pretty pins (all found at thrift stores)

I especially like wearing the little bumblebee on my cardigans; and wearing the large round pins
on dresses that are a bit too big/need to be taken in.

This one is from a flea market.  I was told it is from the early 1900's.   It was reverse-engraved from the back of the pin.  There is so much detail - it's amazing!

One of my favorites!

My "Royal" Cups!

There is a huge thrift store right off Broadway in Eureka, CA. I always stop when we are on our way to the coast. The first time I went, I found 4 cups with gold etched printing with the caption: "By Appointment to His Majesty The King of Sweden". Love these cups, especially in light of our Swedish heritage. Every time I stop, I am lucky enough to find a few more scattered among the housewares. Over time, have found 15 in total, and just love them.

Swedish Royal Cups add to vintage vibe of my shabby chic kitchen!

Vintage clothing & satin padded hangers!

I have a beautiful collection of vintage clothing found at flea market and thrift stores.  I especially love vintage dresses, nightwear and prom style dresses. Vintage clothing makes for a lovely design element when displayed on a clothes rack. I also have a large collection of vintage satin padded hangers. I have found most of my hangers for 25 cents @ piece, and some for even 10 cents.

Also love this calendar in my laundry room. This is not a thrift find. I ordered this from Rachel Ashwell.

Baskets....perfect for storage and decor!

Baskets are easy to find at thrift stores. I have purchased many to use for storage and decor. If they are not the right color I just paint them. I love these pink baskets that I have slipped under my coffee table. At one time I had these above my craft niche, but now find them to be functional here. I keep candles and magazines in these.  While I bought 3 of these at Target a few years ago, I found a couple more matching ones at a thrift store. Have a great Wednesday everybody!

Unique Items

What's great about thrifting?  You can find one-of-a-kind items! Pictured below is a beautiful decoupage box I found, which is made out of cigar box. It is so unique.  Also, since I'm engaged, the bridal theme makes it even more meaningful to me.  Whoever made this is super talented!

I LOVE IT!
